It’s in escapable fact of city living that every accidental locking of two strangers’ eyes results in a fistfight. No one knows how this came to be. No one knows why it’s still a thing.

If you’re a tourist, look up at the buildings. If you’re a resident, look down at your phone. But never, ever make eye contact with anyone on the street.
